Walk on Abinger Roughs

July 18, 2018 @ 10:00 - 13:00

Henry Barnard, NT Lead Ranger for North Downs West, will lead us on a walk around Abinger Roughs.  Henry will talk to us about the history of the area and show us some ancient trees linked to the Abinger Hall Estate as well as the flower sprinkled grassland.  We will take a look at a Bronze Age Burial mount and the Bishop Wilberforce memorial and walk along to Piney Copse which was donated by EM Forster.

Meet in the Abinger Roughs Car Park which is west of Dorking off A25, Dorking to Guildford Road. From Dorking, just before Abinger Hammer, at The Crossways, head north up Whitedown Lane for about a quarter of a mile (opposite Rakes Lane),  the car park is on the left.

Please ring Lyn on 01737 842889 or email: lyn@mra.uk.net to book a place.
