Headley Heath walk with the Ranger

Join us for a walk on Headley Heath led by the NT Ranger, Federico Ghittoni.  Feddy will show us round various parts of the Heath telling us about the significant conservation work done over the last few years to improve the heathland, create open chalk grassland, and protect the ponds for wildlife.  The walk will involve some slopes and could be muddy!

Moths, Mammals and a Folly Good Time

A walk from Juniper Hall Field Studies Centre led by their staff.  We will open up some small mammal traps and look at the moth trap from the previous night and also look under reptile refuges on site.  We will then be shown how FSC work with biodiversity at the centre (looking at blue butterfly scrapings, the butterfly garden, walled garden etc.).  After this we will climb up through Charlotte’s wood to Broadwood Tower and stop here or on Lodge…

Guided walk to see Box Hill’s Flora and Fauna

A member of the Juniper Hall Education Team will lead us on a walk from Juniper Hall to see some of Box Hill’s wonderful flora and fauna. We will meet at the front of Juniper Hall at 2pm. To help Juniper Hall recover from the Pandemic there will be a charge of £10 per head for the walk which will include tea, coffee and cake after the walk if you want it.

Guided walk and talk on a Community Eels Project on the River Mole

A 90-minute walk and talk by someone from the South East Rivers Trust. They are working alongside partners on the Thames Catchment Community Eels project and will be doing lots of work along the River Mole and its tributaries to aid the long-term survival of the critically endangered European eel.  They will talk about the habitats present, the processes and of course eels and other fish and wildlife.
